“With art, my heart beats, and I feel truly alive.”
I’m Elahe Moshkbiz, an Iranian artist based in the Netherlands. My connection to art began in childhood, long before I had formal tools, I found ways to create: tracing shapes in clouds, drawing with water on tiles, expressing what words could not hold.
I studied software engineering, but painting never let me go. In 2006 I began formal training at the Academy for Visual Arts, and over the years my work evolved from realism into abstract and modern expression , always driven by curiosity, always exploring.
Today, each piece I create is painted on a special type of wood, layered with acrylic paint and sand — sand I bring from Iran. That small ritual carries the weight of home. My current focus is minimal texture: finding depth and emotion in simplicity.
